Concord Carlisle at Play, Inc., brings together a wealth of experience in athletics, project and financial management. The organization is entirely composed of volunteers committed to improving the community and athletic opportunities of children (of which our board has 28!) and adults in Concord and Carlisle.

 

John Boynton, President. John Boynton, CCHS class of 1984, is an entrepreneur and investor who has co‐founded several companies and invested in a number of others. He currently operates out of Firehouse Capital, a closely held investment company that makes entrepreneurial investments in early stage technology companies, real estate, and other interesting opportunities. Over the past twenty years, he co‐founded several companies including Yandex, InfiNet Wireless, and CompTek (all in Russia) as well as Wilson|Alan, the Global Content Alliance, and SchoolPulse. He is an investor and/or board member in several other high growth companies including ProcessUnity and Cloudy. He has been self‐employed all but seven years of his career ‐‐ those years spent at Forrester Research and Mercer Management Consulting. John is a past president of the Concord Education Fund, founder of the Alcott Dads, and has coached baseball, soccer, and basketball for his four young athletes.  

 

Russell Dion, Vice President and Lead Project Manager. Russell G. Dion, AIA is a Real Estate Project Executive for a Real Estate Acquisitions and Construction Company. He graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design, BFA Fine Arts, 1983, Rhode Island School of Design, BArch Architecture, 1984, he is a Member of the American Institute of Architects, Licensed to practice Architecture in Massachusetts, is Licensed Construction Supervisor, and a Recipient of Several Design and Construction Awards. He resides in the Town of Carlisle, where he has served on the Benfield Land Use Committee. At the Boston Architectural Center he is a Thesis Project Advisor. He serves as a volunteer youth coach and administrator, where he has been the Concord‐Carlisle Youth Baseball Commissioner in addition to being a certified E level soccer coach.  Russell has played leadership roles with CC Youth Soccer and served for many years as Commissioner of CC Youth Baseball. 

 

Andrew (Drew) McMorrow, Treasurer. Drew McMorrow, MBA, CFP is the President of Ballentine Partners, an independent wealth management firm that provides comprehensive financial advice to wealthy families and entrepreneurs. In addition to advising on the more traditional areas of wealth management, including investments, estate, insurance, tax and philanthropic planning, Drew leverages his consulting background to help families with their direct ventures and real estate opportunities. Prior to joining the firm in 2002, Drew worked at Mercer Management Consulting, where he advised technology companies on their strategic plans. Earlier in his career, Drew was the Director of Business Operations at Oracle Corporation. Drew started his career at the Congressional Budget Office as an Analyst in the Tax Analysis Division. Drew received an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, in 2000. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Brown University, with dual majors in Economics and International Relations, in 1993. Drew has been named five times to Barron's Top 100 list of Independent Financial Advisors nationally, which Barron's calls "America's best." He resides in Carlisle, where he served as the Commissioner of Youth Softball until 2014. This Spring he begins his 12th season as a youth baseball and softball coach.

 

Roberto Braceras, Clerk. Roberto Braceras, a partner in Goodwin Procter LLP’s Litigation Department, specializes in white collar criminal defense, securities fraud, and complex commercial litigation. Mr. Braceras was recently named head of Litigation for Goodwin Procter’s Boston office. He also has been Chairman of the Firm’s Diversity Committee since 2003, and, in July 2012 he was elected to the Council of the Boston Bar Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Criminal Justice Act Panel for the District of Massachusetts and previously served on the Massachusetts Judicial Nominating Commission, State Ballot Law Commission, a U.S. Magistrate Judge Selection Panel, and a Federal Court Judicial Selection Committee (appointed by U.S. Senator Scott Brown). Roberto, a former federal prosecutor, has tried jury and non‐jury cases in both state and federal court. He also has defended a variety of investigations before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA, and other self‐regulatory organizations. In June 2011, Mr. Braceras was recognized by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly for “scor[ing] a big win” in a month‐long jury trial for Philip Morris USA.   Mr. Braceras is a graduate of Dartmouth College, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and the Yale Law School. He has coached his four children in multiple sports and served on the Zoning Board of Appeals for eight years.

 

Amy Carlton is a 1984 graduate from the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management. She has resided in Concord with her husband and two daughters for 20 years. Amy has been actively engaged in the community with various health and wellness programs as a manager, fitness instructor and coach.  Amy is presently Co-Coach of the Concord Carlisle Girls Junior Varsity Lacrosse team. She is also a Yoga Instructor for Concord Recreation and The Fitness Group. Prior to coaching at Concord Carlisle High School, Amy was the Director of Concord Carlisle's Girls Youth Lacrosse Program for five years, a youth lacrosse coach for thirteen years and a member of the Doug White Fields Committee. 

 

Michelle Paradise Ernst has a background in hardware and software sales and marketing where she held management positions in both large corporations and early stage start-ups, primarily in San Francisco, CA.  She is currently the co-founder and owner of OnePointSeven LLP, a marketing communications firm located in Concord.  Michelle is an active advocate for education and the arts and has held in leadership positions at Willard School, Concord Middle School, Concord-Carlisle High School, the Concord Education Fund, the National Charity League and the Umbrella Community Arts Center.  She served on the Concord-Carlisle High School Master Plan Committee and is currently a member of the Concord-Carlisle High School Building Committee.  Michelle is a 1988 graduate of the University of Vermont.  She lives in Concord with her husband, two children and is an avid fan of girls and boys lacrosse, volleyball and football.

 

David Fisher, ASLA, RLA. Dave is a Registered Landscape Architect (MA, RI, CT), and Sole Practitioner with Landscape Architect with over 25 years of experience in site design, planning, zoning analysis for commercial, healthcare, academic, municipal and nonprofit institutions with a specialty in sports facility design and planning. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a Masters of Landscape Architecture; and from the University of Massachusetts, with a BA in Environmental Design. Dave is the Chair of the Concord Zoning Board of Appeals, and a Member of the Drinking Gourd Project. Dave is a Member in good standing of American Society of Landscape Architects.

 

Phillip Gibson. Phil is Director of Leadership Giving at the College of the Holy Cross, where he oversees an office of seven charged with raising money in support of the College's mission. Gibson joined Holy Cross in 2003. Following his graduation from Holy Cross in 1995 with a B.A., History, Gibson served as the Asa Bushnell Intern at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) before being named as the Director of Sports Information and Marketing at Babson College. While at Babson, he earned his MBA from the Olin School of Business. Following Babson, Gibson joined Sakon, an international telecommunications firm, as Director of Sales/Marketing, a job he held for three years before returning to Holy Cross. Gibson has served as a volunteer coach and on a number of community boards and committees in his native Concord, including CC Youth Baseball and Softball.

 

Theresa Hoey. Terry is a graduate of Simmons College with a BA in English/Communications and the Olin School of Business at Babson College with a MBA. Most recently, Terry worked as a residential loan officer and has experience in banking and public relations. At the Fenn School, she served as Parent Association President and Vice President. She has also served on the parent association boards at the Willard School and Milldam Nursery School. On the youth sports level, Terry has volunteered for Pop Warner, CC Friends of Football, CC Friends of Boys Basketball and CC Friends of Field Hockey. Two of her three children are graduates of CCHS and one is a current student.

 

Matthew Magee. Matthew is a Partner and Equity Portfolio Manager at Adage Capital Management in Boston, MA. Prior to joining Adage in 2004, he was employed at Och‐Ziff Capital and Franklin Mutual Advisors. He is responsible for covering industrial and multi‐national conglomerates. Matthew received a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 1993 and a M.B.A from Winthrop University in 1998.  He has two children and coaches in the Pop Warner program.

 

Ralph Verrilli. Ralph Verrilli is vice president Operations of the Specialized Engineering Software (SES) business segment of Siemens PLM Software. He directs operations, global services and technical support for all SES products. Ralph was co‐founder and the COO of Vistagy, a software engineering firm in Waltham, Massachusetts that was acquired by Siemens. Prior to starting Vistagy, Ralph was responsible for product management at ICAD, a knowledge‐based engineering software company, which went on to have a successful IPO. Prior to running product management, he led the North American consulting organization for ICAD. Ralph began his career at Computervision where he developed software for the mechanical computer‐aided engineering market. He holds a Master of Science degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, both from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. His graduate research focused on artificial intelligence as it applies to mechanical design.  Ralph has coached soccer, basketball, and baseball and served a lengthy term as President of CC Youth Baseball.

 

Eric Wilson.  Eric has over 20 years of experience in software and hardware sales and is currently a sales director at Aspect Software. He received  a B.S. in Economics from the University of New Hampshire. He has resided in Concord with his wife and 3 sons since 1993. Eric has served as volunteer coach in the CC youth lacrosse program for 10 years.

 

 

We would like to recognize "retired" board members who played an instrumental role in launching the project and carrying us to Phase 1:  Ben Anderson, Jen Beveridge, and Tina Labadini.

 

CC at Play, Inc., has hired Gale Associates to assist in the planning, design, engineering, and construction management of the field renovation project.

 

Consultants

 

William J. Seymour, P.E. Mr. Seymour is a senior level, professionally licensed engineer with a uniquely broad design and construction management education. He has over 35 years of experience in a variety of civil engineering projects. Mr. Seymour directs Gale’s Civil Engineering Group, responsible for contract negotiation, project scheduling, site planning, permitting, and design for institutional, commercial and residential projects of various sizes and scopes.

 

Sean Boyd, E.I.T.  Mr. Boyd is a project engineer and earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Merrimack College.  He has worked on over three dozen athletic facility projects while at Gale Associates, Inc.  Mr. Boyd’s responsibilities include providing design, permitting and construction period services for athletic facilities, as well as for commercial and residential developments projects of various sizes and scopes.
